We want you to get the best from your Nail Extensions, so we have put together this aftercare leaflet to help you.
- Do not use your nails as tools: When you have your artificial nails on, wear gloves to do your cleaning and gardening. Try not to use your nails to scratch off pieces of dirt or as shovels as it can cause them to break.
- Always use an acetone free nail varnish remover: Acetone is the chemical we use to remove some articicial nails and is found in some nail varnish removers. Only use an Acetone Free Nail Varnish remover to remove your nail varnish.
- Do not pull your Nails off: If you want to remove your artificial nails, do not pull them off as this weakens the natural nail and can be incredibly painful.
- Files can be used: If at any time you find your nails are too long, you can always file them down using a standard emery board.
- Do not cut your nails: If you find your nails too long, file them down. Do not cut them as you risk the chance of cutting any surrounding skin and you can also pull the nail off.
- Use Cuticle Oil: In order to keep your nails flexible and to feed your natural nails, rub cuticle oil into your cuticles several times a day. In the first 12 hours of having nail extensions, we advise you put cuticle oil on five times to help them to set.
- Apply a top coat: To keep Artificial Nails looking new for longer, apply a layer of top coat every two days.
- Apply a Base Coat: When painting your nails, always apply a base coat. This prevents staining of the Nail.
- Removing Tips: If you wish to remove Acrylic Enhancements, soak carefully in acetone to remove the product and gently file. We do recommend that rather than removing tips yourself, you should book an appointment for a tip removal and manicure, we remove the tips free of charge. To remove Gel nails, please visit the salon.
